If Tamoxifen was a person they would get a raw deal from me !

I have had some time to reflect on life recently and I notice I had got in the habit of blaming Tamoxifen for EVERYTHING !!

If I have a bloated stomach ……………………………………… TAMOXIFEN

If I’m feeling anxious ………………………………………………TAMOXIFEN

If my period is irregular …………………………………………..TAMOXIFEN

If the scales are tipping in the wrong direction …………..TAMOXIFEN

My hair isn’t thick and vibrant…………………………………..TAMOXIFEN

I lost my keys……………………………………………………………TAMOXIFEN (okay maybe thats pushing it a bit tooooo far !

Now I’m not saying Tamoxifen doesn’t have its bad side effects but I think my perspective on this drug has been a bit harsh, I give it an awful time in my day to day life.    I decided to try to stop being a negative nelly and tried to look at it from a different perspective.

• Tamoxifen is a necessity for me.
• Time flies and I have already completed over 2 years of my 5 years on Tamoxifen
• Its not going to be forever
• People took time to research and develop this medication that I am benefiting from
• At least I qualify to take a medication that can help to prevent a reoccurance, I’m sure there are many girls out there that would feel more at ease if they were able to take something which promised this.

I am most definately not dismissing anyone’s hatred or difficulties with taking this medication but I think for me to continue and see the next 3 years out on it I have got to be more proactive in finding ways of  easing the side effects rather than moaning about them.  And obviously I am not of any help to you girls if all I am doing is giving out about something but not doing anything to help change things.  Which takes me onto what will be my next post – Food Intolerence Testing – I’ve done it girls and i’ll be letting you know how its gone for me very soon #banishthebloat.
