I love being tanned and sunbeds are just out of the question in my world, what with the risk of skin cancer and the escalated aging process I totally frown upon them. I usually get a spray tan, which I find super convenient and it means I know its done properly i.e. streak free as I have been know to apply my tan and end up resembling a tanned Zebra.
Last week I didn’t manage to book my spray tan so I was forced into a DIY situation. I’m a big fan of Tan Organic and always make sure to have a supply of their Self Tan Lotion on hand. In this years Beauty Blog Awards goodie bags was a sample of Tan Organic – Self Tan Oil. Its colourless, odourless and organic which is a major plus for me. As I had already used the Self Tan Lotion and I love the results, the colour was so golden and sun-kissed I decided to throw caution to the wind, be wild and try the Self Tan Oil. At first I was concerned that by using the colourless oil I would not be able to judge if I had covered all areas evenly. There is no need for tanning gloves which I found was great as I think applying the tan using your hands gives a much more even finish. And don’t be worrying that you will be left with tanned palms a little rub with a baby wipe when you are done will prevent that. I went to bed that night, free of that stinky fake tan odour (Tom was thrilled with that !) and when I woke up the next morning there was no tan transfer on my new cream bed sheets. When I looked in the mirror to inspect the results I was thrilled my skin looked golden and sun-kissed. This is going to be my DIY tan of choice for the foreseeable future.
While I’m at it I may as well let you know about a few of their other products. To prep my skin before I get tanned I have also been using the Tan-Erase Ultimate Exfoliator Glove. Its got a rough surface you just rub your skin gently with it while in the shower, my skin feels really clean and smooth after I use it. Because I get a tan nearly every week I have to make sure that I get as much of the old tan off my skin in advance of getting my tan done. Used once or twice a week this glove does the trick.
Afterwards I moisturise with the Multi Use Dry Oil – now I only use this on my body but it can be used on your hair as well. OMG the smell of this product is just divine. There is nothing I like better than having a pamper evening and incorporating my Tan Organic tools into it. A good exfoliate followed by a full body moisturise and I am ready to sleep like a baby !
For those of you who really don’t want to try the Self Tan Oil because you like to have a colour guide well then you should try the Self Tan Lotion. The colour result is similar to that of the oil. You will need to use a tanning glove to apply this tan. The lotion is quite liquid in consistency and a little goes a long way. It’s easy to apply even for me as I was used to applying cream or foam tans before and just as good as the oil so it’s down to personal preference which one will be your favourite.
What I really like about this range is that it’s organic and the ingredients used nourish your skin. It’s great for those of you who are conscious of what products you use on your skin and if you want to use product without any nasties. I would be here all day if I was to write about all of the fab ingredients used in these products so if you want to know more about Tan Organic and its products go to their website http://www.tanorganic.com
