My name is Stacy, I am 30 and a mam of 4. I was diagnosed with stage 3 inflammatory Breast Cancer on the 7th of September 2018.
Before my diagnoses I suffered from a swollen, red, hot and itchy breast which was mistaken twice for mastitis. Thankfully the third doctor who examined me sent me to the breast clinic, 2 weeks later I had 2 biopsies and an ultrasound which confirmed I had Breast Cancer. It never crossed my mind that it would be Breast Cancer because how could it be at age 29 and pregnant! I was 33 weeks pregnant at the time I had to have my baby 1 week later, then have a CT scan to find out my diagnosis. I was so relieved when I found out it had not spread to any organs as I was convinced it had. I was so scared at the time but once I got started on my treatment I felt better, the waiting and not knowing was the hardest part for me.
The following week I started 4 cycles of AC then 12 cycles of Taxol. And on the 1st of March 2019 I had a left mastectomy and full auxiliary clearance. I am now waiting to have 6 weeks of radiation which should start the 1st week of April. Then I will start Tamoxifen, I am just grateful that I found out on time and have a treatment plan.
My main focus now is to have lots of fun with all the people who mean the most. One thing it has thought me is to show more love to family and friends Xx
